If you want to transfer a domain from one domain name registrar to another, you will have to pass through a few safety procedures. One of them is obtaining a special EPP code from the present domain registrar – as long as you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's email account and nobody else can obtain it. You have to provide this code to the new domain registrar, otherwise they will not be able to start the domain transfer process. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may contain numbers or special symbols such as commas or dots, which can be easily miswritten, so make sure you copy & paste the correct code. As an extra security measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be reset regularly. Certain domain name registrars call this code a domain password, a domain secret or an Auth key as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a website hosting, you have registered a domain name with us and you’d like to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP transfer code with no more than a few clicks of the mouse. When you log into your Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domains that you’ve registered with us listed alphabetically. Next to each domain name, you will notice a small EPP icon for all generic and country-code domain name extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between registrars. Clicking on the icon will email the EPP code to the domain registrant’s email address straight away. In the very same section you can also see and ultimately update the email address, if the one there is no longer valid.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

You can swiftly obtain the transfer authorization code for any domain registered under a semi-dedicated server account if you want to transfer it. This can be achieved through the exact same Control Panel, via which you administer your account, so you will not have to switch between different admin interfaces. All you will have to do is go to the Control Panel’s domain management section and click on the EPP button for the domain that you wish to transfer, on the condition that its extension supports transfers with such a code. Our system emails all codes automatically to the domain name registrant’s email address listed in the domain’s WHOIS record, so if the email that is currently entered is obsolete, you can change it with several clicks without needing to leave the Control Panel’s domain management section.
