A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk messages, but this problem can be fixed using anti-spam protection software. It is also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you have a website hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel offers quite a few features, but it is remarkably easy to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the given email address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or select a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled easily if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll see a mini button handily located right next to each of them. With only a click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature through the contextual menu that will come into view. In case any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
